Should I quit my nine year cruelty free run?

I've been a vegetarian for about 9 years. At first I felt so strong about it. I wasn't against eating meat or animal products but more against using animals and animal products for unneeded purposes (like clothing and furniture). Now I don't feel as strongly about it. As a matter of fact I've started eating fish and dairy products again and I'm considering eating chicken again (mainly for problems I've been having with my heart). I feel like I'm only keeping it up because I feel bad about my feelings fading over the years. I actually find myself wanting purses and shoes made from leather and it bothers me. If I don't feel the same motivation as I did before, should I give in? Or should I continue to convince myself that I do care as much as I did before?

Eating animals and using the hides is not cruelty. Killing the animals is not cruelty. It is how the industry keeps them in pits and make them walk around in manure up to their bellies and feed them things they normally would not be eating, that is where the cruelty lies. In fact, killing them is merciful because living in the conditions that the industry makes them live in is inhumane. If you buy local meat raise on local farms that are grass fed, and let out to pasture, you will be helping the farmers, the animals, and your health while helping send a message to the conglomerate companies who are feeding us food that is killing us.
